Windsor Obituary: Diane Boggio, 55

Condolences to her family and friends.

Diane M. Boggio, 55, of Windsor, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017 while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Bridgeport on June 2, 1961, daughter of Betsy Boggio of Windsor and the late Riccardo J. Boggio, Sr., and grew up in Windsor. Diane graduated from Windsor High School where her love for sports and natural athleticism allowed her to play on the varsity basketball team. She later attended Bay Path College in Springfield before receiving her bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Hotel Management from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI.

After working in hospitality, Diane became a Paralegal and enjoyed her years working in the legal profession. She was an avid sports enthusiast and closely followed the UConn Women's Basketball Team each season and attended several of the Final Four games. Diane also enjoyed all of the New England sports teams, including the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and others.

She was an easy-going, peaceful throw back from the 60s and embraced a casual and relaxed lifestyle. Diane was a "free spirit" who lived for her animals, live music, outdoor concerts, and Led Zeppelin. Her 'greatest dream' became a reality when finally she purchased a pale green convertible Volkswagen Beetle and happily rode around town with a flower in the vase and a peace symbol sticker on the back.

Diane was a strong woman and a dedicated single mother who raised her only daughter with an understanding of the importance of love and family. She maintained close relationships with her siblings and their families especially her only sister Liz and goddaughter Briana.
