Windsor Obituary: Donna Souza, 58

Donna Marie "Spanky" Souza, 58, of Statesville, NC unexpectedly departed this life Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at her home.

Donna was born Dec. 31, 1958, in Hartford. She was a graduate of Windsor High School in Windsor. She worked at Aetna Insurance and opened an answering service company, Communications Plus in East Hartford.

After moving to Statesville, she opened a craft store Michelle & Elena’s before working for Easter Seals where Donna was employed at Home Care Management Corp. in Statesville and was a dedicated and loving care taker of special needs patients.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Souza; and brother, Kenneth Souza. She is survived by her father, Manny Souza of East Windsor; three sisters, Dorothy Souza (Spottie) of Middletown, Mary Scanlon of Statesville, Veronica Farrelly of Bacoa Raton, FL; and two brothers, Michael Souza of Enfield, and Leo Souza of East Windsor. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who were very special to her; her extended family in Statesville; the love of her life, Wayne Nicholson, Emily Bevins and Dillon Bevins.

Donna was an avid animal lover and loved working in her yard and just being outdoors.

Her family will receive friends Friday, January 12, 2018 from 5:00-6:30 PM at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor followed by a memorial service at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.

Donna will be greatly missed by her family, her friends and her patients, who she so diligently and lovingly cared for.
