Windsor Obituary: Evelyn Virgo, 85

Evelyn Shannon Virgo, 85, of Windsor, departed this life on March 9, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Clifton and Bertha (Champion) Shannon.

Evelyn retired from Allen Manufacturing. Evelyn enjoyed life and she loved God and her family. She was a caring and nurturing soul. She was an avid crafter and enjoyed crocheting, weaving, ceramics, and doll making. She shared her beautiful creations and gifts with her family, friends and community. She crocheted hats for premature babies and taught crafting classes at the Artists Collective and local Senior Centers.

She leaves to cherish her memory son, Lloyd (Rhonda) Virgo of Georgia, daughter Donna Larry of Windsor; her three siblings Christine Butler, Linda Abrahms, and Robert Shannon, Sr., five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and her treasured animals. She was predeceased by her husband Francisco Virgo; sons Francisco Virgo, Jr. and Marshall D. Shannon, and her siblings, Helen Nembhard, Marie Clark, Margaret Shannon, Theresa Byrd Pope, James Shannon, and Clifton Shannon Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 17 at 11 a.m. at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services (Henry L. Fuqua Funeral Service), 94 Granby Street, Bloomfield, preceded by a calling hour at 10 a.m.
