Windsor Obituary: George Moskites, Sr., 85

Condolences to his family and friends.

George P. Moskites, Sr., 85, of Windsor, beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Gworek) Moskites, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2016.

Born in Bloomfield to the late George and Anna Moskites, he has been a Windsor resident almost all of his life and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Poquonock. George served his country proudly with the US Army during the Korean War and worked as a sheet metal worker with KAMAN and Hamilton Standard before his retirement in 1996. He was a member of St. Casimir's Lithuanian Society in Windsor, the senior bowling league for Hamilton Standard, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and his favorite teams the Red Sox and Patriots.

George is survived his son George Moskites, Jr. of Windsor; his daughter Diana Nadeau and her husband Ron of Granby; his grandchildren Ronnie, Michael and his wife Laura, Christopher, Jennifer, Nicole and her husband Andrew, George III, and Alyssa; and his daughter-in-law Susan Moskites. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by his sons Jeffrey and Donald Moskites, and his brother John Moskites.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, September 6 at St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock Ave, Poquonock, followed by burial with military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock. His family will receive friends on Monday, September 5 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave, Poquonock.
