Windsor Obituary: James Palmer, 70

Condolences to his family and friends.

James "Jim" Palmer, 70, of Windsor, beloved husband of Barbara A. Palmer, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Son of the late Norman and Catherine Palmer, Jim was born in Hartford on July 20, 1946. Jim worked for the State of Connecticut Department of Public Works for 34 years , before he started his own business, Jim's Handyman's Service. He was a skilled man always tinkering and fixing things for friends and family. Jim had a love for tools, firearms and classic cars. Jim was a quiet man, thoughtful and careful in his deliberations and always there for those who needed him.

He is loved and mourned by his wife of 49 years, Barbara and four daughters, Jacqueline Covert of Manchester, Linda Palmer of Windsor Locks, Lisa Palmer of Windsor, and Karen Colwell and her husband Seth Colwell of West Suffield; brother, Arthur; three sisters, Patricia, Nancy and Ella; six adored grandchildren, Kimberly, Tyler, Savannah, Kailin, Seth, Jr. "Jubee", Jack; two great-grandchildren, Madysen and Zachary; and his beloved kitty "lady". Jim also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be privately held under the direction of Carmon Funeral Home of Windsor.
