Windsor Obituary: Louise Burns, 70

Condolences to her family and friends.

Louise “Wheezy” Teresa (McCormack) Burns, 70, of Windsor, beloved wife of Richard D. Burns, passed into the arms of the Lord Friday, August 4, 2017.

Born in Hartford to the late Thomas and Josephine (Firliet) McCormack she was raised in Hartford and later lived in Springfield, MA and Texas before moving to Windsor in 2005. She worked at the Springfield Big Y for many years, as well as Sam’s and Linens & Things.

An avid animal lover, “Wheezy” was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend. She was compassionate, loving, and non-judgmental, caring deeply for her entire family. She will be greatly missed by her extended family.

She leaves behind her husband, Richard, of 52 years; her beloved dog, Birdie; son Dennis Burns (Stacee) of Round Rock, TX; daughter Donica Burns-Johnson of Enfield; her three grandchildren, Cooper & Quinn Burns, and Chelsey Johnson; brother Francis McCormack (Pebby) and sister Maryann Renick (Jack), both of Florida.

Louise’s family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. Family and friends may gather Friday, August 11th at 9:00 AM at Carmon’s followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad Street, Windsor. Burial will follow in the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
