
Lucille Frances DiPietro Allaire, 78, of Rocky Hill, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 after a long illness. Lucille, formerly of Windsor and Hartford, was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard (Dick) Orien Allaire.
She was the daughter of Salvatore and Philomena (Pandolfe) DiPietro of Rocky Hill. She is survived by her two children, son Thomas Allaire, his wife Susan, and their son Nathan of Newington, and daughter Michelle Allaire of Culpeper, VA. Lucille was the oldest of four siblings, brother William DiPietro (deceased) and his wife Christine of Clinton, brother Francis DiPietro and his wife Lana of Westerly, RI, brother Peter DiPietro and his wife Carrie of Apex, NC, and brother-in-law Paul Allaire and his wife Jan of Charlottesville, VA. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Lucille was born and raised in the Elliot Street Extension of Hartford, where she lived with her large extended Italian family. She graduated from Hartford Public Elementary School, Mount St. Joseph Academy High School in West Hartford, and Central CT State University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, and a Master's Degree in Reading.

Lucille first taught at Brackett Northeast School in Hartford, and then later at Clover Street Elementary School in Windsor, where she taught for 20 years.
Lucille was an avid embroiderer, quilter, seamstress, crafts artisan, storyteller, genealogist, and photographer. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Church in Windsor, and later St. James Church in Rocky Hill. Lucille loved to spend her summers at Cornfield Point in Old Saybrook. She was passionate about her family, friends, and teaching, all of which gave her great joy.

A wake will be held on Tuesday, November 21, from 4:00-7:00pm at Rose Hill Funeral Home in Rocky Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 22 at 10:00am at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish at St. James Church, 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill, followed by burial at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lucille's name to: CT Love to Read, CT Teacher's Association, Clover Street Elementary School - Windsor, or the Dementia Association.
