
Myrna M. Steele, 70, of Windsor, beloved wife of Weston Steele, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Jamaica to the late Allan and Jane (Foster) Smith, she migrated to the US and lived in New York before settling in East Hartford and Windsor. Myrna had been living in Florida for over 7 years before returning to Windsor last year. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Windsor and enjoyed card games, board games and trips to the casino. But most important was her family, who will miss her dearly.
Besides her husband Weston of Windsor, she is survived by her sons Darien (Ricky-D) Steele and his wife Mahlaynee of Bloomfield and Paul Steele and wife Grace of Riverview, FL; her daughter Dahlia Steele and her husband Wilfred of Windsor; her brothers Neville, Linton and Melvin Smith; her sisters Dorrett, Marcia and Alicia Smith; and her grandchildren Kiera, Khari, Keyran, Kayla, Korey, Keenan, Dillon, Zaviana, Olyma, Tikor, Nazaru, Abeba, Ziare, Satori, Tiyanchi, Konjo, son in law Joe and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter Dionne Steele-Garib.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, August 29 at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, Windsor. Her family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 AM to 11 AM, and at a repast immediately following the burial at the West Indian Social Club disco room, 3340 Main St Hartford.
