
Robert (Bob) Bliss Wheaton, Sr., 75, of Windsor, died suddenly at his home Friday, August 4, 2017.
Born on September 7, 1941 in Milo, Maine. Bob served in the US Navy and later settled in Connecticut where he raised his family. His career in the Painting & Industrial Coatings Industry spanned over sixty years and he proudly taught his trade to many including his son’s. Bob completed his career at The Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor as the Lead Painter for eleven years until he retired in February 2011.
Son of the late Bliss and Esther (Bishop) Wheaton & step-father Raymond Robichaud. He leaves his beloved wife of twenty years, Donna (McGeary) Wheaton of Windsor, and his sister, Lorraine Wheaton of Windsor Locks. Bob is survived by his children, Raymond J. Wheaton and his partner Melissa of South Windsor, Robert B. Wheaton, Jr., and his wife Lori of Kittery, ME, Carmel T. Wheaton Kerrigan and her husband Vincent of Norwood, MA, David S. Wheaton and his partner Candice of Winsted; his step-children, Richard Welch of Windsor, Robert Welch and his partner Tracey of Enfield, Melissa Kennedy-Collins and her husband Richard of Windsor, and Anne Marie Walts and her husband Jay of Westfield, MA. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Ryan and his wife KC Wheaton, Cameron and Madison Wheaton, Owen and Mairead Kerrigan, Morgan and McKenzi Wheaton, Sara, Abigail, and Emily Welch, Thomas, Timothy and Renna Welch, Cassondra and Meagan Collins, and great granddaughter Penelope Wheaton.

Bob will be especially missed by the extended McGeary family and many nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was very proud of his family roots in Maine and will be missed by all of his Wheaton and Thornton cousins. Bob will be remembered for his love of gardening, playing pool and cards, darts, hunting, fishing, watching football and baseball, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. He will be sorely missed by his beloved dog Munda who he adored and spoiled.
Family and friends are invited to Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave, Windsor, on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Calling hours will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm followed by a 3:00 pm military service in the chapel at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
