Windsor Obituary: Santina DePianta, 85

Santina (Lastrina) DePianta, 85, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Harold DePianta, passed away, Monday, January 2, 2017.

Born and raised in New Britain, daughter of the late Angelo and Lucia (Bonjourno) Lastrina, she lived in Windsor for over 55 years. She was employed by North & Judd before her marriage to Harold and was employed by the Town of Windsor as a school crossing guard for over 20 years.

She loved playing cards on a Friday evening and dancing on Saturday evening. She enjoyed drives to the CT shore, enjoying fried clams or a hot dog at Johnny Ad's and weekends at her vacation home on Cape Cod. Most of all she loved cooking, baking, and spending time with her family.

She leaves a son Darren J. DePianta of Windsor; two daughters Dorene Hickey (Charles) of Windsor and Dianna Lysak of Windsor Locks; grandchildren Keri-Anne Stone (Darren), Christopher Stone, Gregory Stone, Brandon Lysak, Tyler Lysak, Christina Knauber (Steven), Justin Hickey (Amanda), Caitlin Morris (Matthew), and Ryan Hickey; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Deborah M. Stone and a brother Andrew Lastrina.

Her family will receive friends Friday, January 13, 2017, from 10-11am followed by a service at 11am at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
