Windsor Pitcher Signs With Mets Organization

He had been drafted in the 12th round last month, and will now begin his professional career in Florida.

WINDSOR, CT - Former Windsor High School baseball standout Matt Cleveland has signed a contract with the New York Mets, the Journal Inquirer reported.

Cleveland, a pitcher who was selected by the Mets in the 12th round of last month's amateur draft, received a $300,000 signing bonus, the paper said.

He will report to Port St. Lucie, Florida to begin his professional career with the Gulf Coast League Mets.
