Windsor Public Schools Appoints Kelvan Kearse New Safety Security and Residency Officer

Windsor Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelvan Kearse as Safety, Security and Residency Officer. In his new role, Kearse will work closely with the Director of Business Services to implement and maintain the Windsor District School Security and Safety Plan as well as supervising all of the Safety Security Monitors in the district. Kearse will also be responsible for coordinating all Residency investigations.

Kearse recently retired as Captain from the Windsor Police Department, where he served for 26 years. For the past 18 years he also served as the Team Commander for the North Central Regional S.W.A.T. team. Throughout his career, Kearse has consulted numerous corporations regarding the design and development of their respective Emergency Action Plans.

“Kearse brings a wealth of expertise to his new role as Safety, Security and Residency Officer and we are thrilled to have him join our staff,” said Windsor Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Craig Cooke. “He knows our schools, our town and our students very well. It’s an important new position for us and Kearse is a perfect fit.”

Kearse is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is the North Central Director of the Connecticut Gang Investigators Association, and a member of the National Tactical Officers Association. He is certified by the Police Officers Standards and Training Council (POST) to teach Cultural Diversity, Defensive Tactics, Firearms, Patrol Procedures, Crowd Control, Building Search, and SWAT tactics.
