Windsor Public Schools Offer Parent Leadership Training Institute Course

Taste of PLTI to be held November 19 to learn more about training course

The Windsor Public School district, in collaboration with the Connecticut Commission on Children, will be offering free classes to individuals interested in learning more about leadership skills through the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI).

PLTI classes provide instruction to help participants engage in the community with purpose aimed at creating a positive outcome for children, families and their community. The PLTI curriculum is a 20-week course initiated by a retreat to develop group communication and culminates with a community project based on the student’s personal passions. The first 10 weeks classes will focus on self and perception of leadership. The next 10 weeks of the training concentrate on practicing democracy skills.

To gain a better understanding of what PLTI can do for you, a “Taste of PLTI” will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Windsor Public Library, 323 Broad Street, Windsor. This session will provide a sample of the content provided throughout the 20-week course. Registration for this workshop can be completed by calling the PLTI Coordinator at 860-687-2000 ext. 232 or email PLTI@windsorct.org.
