Windsor Schools Offer Internet Safety Presentation for Families

Presentation designed to teach students and families how to make smart choices while using the Internet and today's technology

Windsor Public Schools is offering an Internet Safety presentation on Thursday, February 22, 2018 for families, parents and guardians of students in grades 5-12 to learn how to make smart choices while using the Internet and today’s technology. The presentation takes place at Sage Park Middle School (25 Sage Park Road, Windsor, CT) in the auditorium from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Presenter Scott Driscoll, of Internet Safety Concepts (ISC), designed the presentation to heighten the awareness of potential dangers while still focusing on the positive aspects of technology. “I started ISC after seeing firsthand, in my 24 years in law enforcement, how dangerous the Internet and technology can be,” said Scott Driscoll. “With education we can learn how to prevent dangerous situations and stay safe.”

According to statistics from Internet Safety Concepts, 69% of teens regularly receive personal messages online from people they do not know. In addition, 33% of teens say they have been cyber bullied.
