Windsor Student Approached by Suspicious Man: PD

The suspect allegedly approached the student in an unmarked white work van, according to police.

WINDSOR, CT — Windsor police are cautioning residents to be wary of a suspicious person in a white work van who is alleged to have approached a high school student Tuesday morning.

According to a report from Capt. Thomas LePore, a Windsor High School student reported to the school resource officer that he was walking to school around 8:15 a.m. in the area of Plymouth Street and Tobey Avenue, when a white work van with no markings operated by a white male approached him.

According to the student, the suspect stated he knew he attended Sage Park Middle School and offered him a ride to school. The student ignored the suspect and continued to walk to the high school, where he immediately reported the incident to the school resource officer, LePore said.

The suspect was described as 30 to 40 years of age, heavy set, bald, and had a light brown beard.

The incident is currently under investigation, LePore said.
