Wooden Receives Endorsements Leading Up To Tuesday's Primary
Hartford Firefighters Union, former U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Kennelly announce support for Wooden in State Senate race.

State senate candidate Shawn Wooden recently received endorsements from the Hartford Firefighters Local 760, AFL CIO and former First Congressional District U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Kennelly leading up to the Aug. 12 primary.
Wooden received the party’s nomination in May and is running against longtime incumbent Eric Coleman, D-2nd District, and former Windsor council member Lenworth Walker.
Hartford Firefighters President Vincent Fusco said in a press release, “We will continue to support those leaders who support us, understand the issues facing labor, and are leaders in standing up for labor. Shawn Wooden is a tireless advocate for us and we are proud to stand with him on August 12th.”

Kennelly said in a press release, “I’ve known Shawn Wooden for 20 years and he will be an extremely effective advocate for us in the State Senate. That’s why I’m voting for Shawn Wooden on August 12th.”
