Airport Alarm Leads To Arrest Of Bradley Worker

Troopers turned the employee over to New Britain police after discovering the outstanding arrest warrant during the response.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — An early-morning alarm at Bradley International Airport led to the arrest of an airport worker Wednesday after state troopers discovered he had an active warrant out of New Britain, officials said.

According to preliminary information from Connecticut State Police, Troop H personnel responded to Bradley International Airport around 4:17 a.m. after receiving a report of an alarm activation.

Arrest Followed Early-Morning Alarm Response

During the response, troopers determined that an airport employee on scene had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by New Britain police. Troopers took the man into custody and turned him over to New Britain police.

State police have not said what type of alarm triggered the response at the airport.

Airport Official Confirms Worker No Longer Employed

Brian Spyros, a spokesperson for the Connecticut Airport Authority, confirmed the individual worked for Huntleigh Corporation within its wheelchair operation at Bradley International Airport.

Spyros said the person no longer works at the airport following the arrest. There was no threat to the public, officials said.

New Britain police did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the arrest.
