EAST WINDSOR, CT — Police are warning residents after a wave of complaints about door-to-door sales activity in town.

The East Windsor Police Department said it received numerous complaints about aggressive door-to-door sales tactics from representatives of Moxie Pest Control. Police said they also monitored similar concerns shared on local East Windsor Facebook community pages.

Officers located the individuals earlier Tuesday, according to police. They were cited for soliciting without a permit.

Police said the individuals were also advised that any continued aggressive tactics could lead to escalating criminal action.

Anyone soliciting door-to-door in East Windsor must have a valid town-issued permit, police said. Residents have the right to ask a solicitor to show that permit.

Police said residents should call the department’s non-emergency line at 860-292-8240 if a salesperson refuses to leave a property, becomes aggressive or cannot produce a permit.

The department thanked residents who reported the behavior.
