EAST WINDSOR, CT — A Broad Brook Elementary School teacher has been named East Windsor’s Teacher of the Year.
Amy Wyse, a fourth grade teacher at the school, was surprised in her classroom Thursday morning with the honor, according to East Windsor Public Schools.
The surprise visit included Broad Brook Elementary School Principal Laura Foxx, Assistant Principal Matt Ryan, Superintendent Dr. Patrick Tudryn, Assistant Superintendent Darryl Rouillard and members of Wyse’s family, including her son and future daughter-in-law, district officials said.
In announcing the honor, the district said Wyse’s nomination highlighted her ability to inspire students, build strong relationships and approach challenges with grace and compassion.
District officials also said Wyse has earned the respect of students, families, colleagues and administrators.
Wyse will be formally celebrated by the district during next year’s convocation ceremony, school officials said.
