EAST WINDSOR, CT — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information in the case of Oscar, a 13-week-old puppy police said was found abandoned in a dumpster in East Windsor.
East Windsor police said Oscar was found Saturday, June 27, wrapped in a plastic bag and discarded in a dumpster. Police previously said the puppy suffered serious injuries and was taken to an emergency animal hospital.
Desmond’s Army Animal Law Advocates is offering the $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person or people responsible for Oscar’s condition, cruelty and abandonment, police said.
The group is also contributing $750 toward Oscar’s medical care.
Police said Oscar has undergone surgery and is doing well. He will now spend six weeks in medically supervised foster care while he recovers.
Anyone with information about Oscar, or who may have owned him, is asked to contact Animal Control Officer Wentworth through the East Windsor Communications Center at 860-292-8240.
