EAST WINDSOR, CT — Three people were taken to a local hospital after a two-vehicle crash that left one vehicle overturned on Interstate 91 south Thursday afternoon, according to the Warehouse Point Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched about 4:29 p.m. to the Dexter Coffin Bridge by Connecticut State Police. One person was freed from a vehicle by fire crews, the department said.

East Windsor Ambulance transported three patients from the scene. Broad Brook, Windsor Locks and Enfield Fire District 1 firefighters also assisted.

A dog named Clementine was ejected from the overturned vehicle and ran from the crash scene, firefighters said. After crews searched nearby wooded areas and received several sightings, Clementine made her way to a Dunkin' vestibule, where she was safely corralled.

East Windsor police took the dog into custody, and Clementine was reunited with her family at the fire department, according to the department's post.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, officials say.
