EAST WINDSOR, CT — Two East Windsor police officers pulled an unconscious driver from a burning vehicle following an early-morning crash on Bridge Street, police said.
Officer Devlin arrived at the crash at 4:14 a.m. Aug. 31 and found the vehicle on fire. The driver was breathing but unresponsive and remained buckled inside the wreckage, according to the East Windsor Police Department.
Devlin began working to free the driver before Sgt. Tessier arrived to help. Together, the officers dragged the driver away from the vehicle and to safety.
Police said the vehicle was completely engulfed in flames just minutes later.
The driver has since been released from the hospital and is recovering at home, according to the department.
Police credited Devlin and Tessier's quick response with saving the driver's life.
