EAST WINDSOR, CT — An out-of-state man purchased a CT Lottery scratch ticket at a Route 5 gas station and convenience store, which turned into a 5-figure cash prize for him.

Michael Humbertson of Frederick, Maryland won $10,000 on a 30X Cash 7th Edition ticket, which he bought at the Mercury Price Cutter at 9 South Main Street. Humbertson claimed his winnings Wednesday.

His ticket was the second big winner bought in the same area this week. Two days earlier, a Wethersfield woman won $10,000 on a scratch ticket acquired next door at the Mercury Sunoco station.
