Armed Man Robs East Windsor Store [VIDEO]

The man was captured on surveillance video, which has been released in an attempt to identify him.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — An armed man robbed a 7-Eleven store on Route 5 early Monday morning, escaping with about $300 in cash.

The robbery occurred at the 7-Eleven at 183 South Main Street at 1:56 a.m. The suspect, a black male, ordered the clerk to empty the cash register into a plastic bag at gunpoint before fleeing on foot on Stoughton Road, police said.

A Connecticut State Police canine unit attempted to track the suspect, with negative results, police said.

The suspect is about 6 feet tall and was wearing a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt, black jacket, gloves and blue jeans. He is believed to be left-handed, police said.

Police have released video footage of the robbery in progress.
