Arrest Made in Fatal East Windsor Crash

A collision between a car and a pickup truck resulted in the death of an Enfield man, according to police.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal crash on Route 140 Thursday afternoon.

Around 12:42 p.m., East Windsor police received a report of an evading motor vehicle crash in the area of 226 North Road (Route 140), with one vehicle off the road. A white Mazda Millenia, operated by Troy Michaud, 53, of Enfield, was traveling east on North Road in the area of Melrose Road when it was struck by a 2006 red Dodge pickup truck with Michigan plates that was travelling west on North Road, police said.

The Mazda was located off the road in the area of North and Yosky roads. The Dodge pickup truck left the scene of the crash, but was later located by police.

The pickup truck operator, Hans Geise, 33 of Brooklyn, Mich., was charged with evading responsibility and failure to drive right. The East Windsor Police Department was later notified that Michaud had succumbed to his injuries, police said.

The investigation into the crash is continuing, and the East Windsor Police Department is seeking witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer David Simoes at (860) 292-8240 ext. 5203.
