Broad Brook Woman Feels Lucky, Wins $10,000 Lottery Prize
She claimed the top prize on "10X the Cash."

BROAD BROOK, CT — “This is the most exciting thing to happen to me,” said a thrilled Toni Blanchard of Broad Brook as she cashed $10,000 on a “10X The Cash 11th Edition” ticket.
While buying milk at A&B Express at 110 Main Street, Blanchard decided to buy a scratch game. “I felt lucky,” she explained in a statement released by the CT Lottery.
Playing the ticket at home, Blanchard couldn’t hold her excitement as she revealed the winning numbers.

“I saw the [zeros], ‘Oh my gosh’ I just screamed," she said. "My husband ran from the living room—thought something bad happened.”
Luckily, all the commotion turned to celebration in the Blanchard household. “Even the parrot [Blanchard’s pet] started screaming as loud as I did!”

When asked what she plans on doing with her check, Blanchard replied with a chuckle, “Mount the check on my wall!” Furthermore, she plans to pay off their recent family vacation to Bermuda.
Looking back at the winner’s check, Blanchard shook her head with gratification and said, “Wow, all I can say is wow!”
For selling the winning ticket, A&B Express will receive a $100 check from the CT Lottery.
The overall odds of winning a 10X The Cash 11th Edition prize are 1 in 3.95. Of the 225 top prizes, 169 remain to be claimed.
