Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its spring 2018 semester Dean's List for full-time students. Local honorees and their majors are: Danielle Bolin of Windsor Locks, Social Work; Kate Cobb of Windsor Locks, Communication; Tyler Gibbs of East Windsor, Physical Education.; Brendan Gondarowski of Broad Brook, Exploratory STEM; Paige Graveline of Broad Brook, Communication; Selena Hinkel of Broad Brook, Social Work; Katelynn Scalia of Windsor Locks, English; Ryan Tarko of Windsor Locks, Communication; and Melissa Wabble of Broad Brook, Physical Education. In order to be named to the Dean's List, Eastern students must achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the semester.

Elmira College, Elmira NY

• The Elmira College Class of 2018 included more than 140 graduates receiving summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude honors at the College's 160th Commencement on Saturday, June 2 at the Murray Athletic Center, Pine Valley. The exercises included 270 undergraduate and 27 graduate students.
  Students from East Windsor graduating with honors included Madison Carolus, Magna Cum Laude, and Makinsey Carolus, Cum Laude.

Hofstra University, Hempstead NY

• East Windsor resident Simran Padam, a student at Hofstra University majoring in Information Systems, was inducted into Phi Sigma Tau, the international honor society in philosophy this spring. Hofstra's Department of Philosophy inducted a total of 19 students into Phi Sigma Tau. The ceremony was followed by the annual Philosophy Student Conference in which exciting presentations by philosophy students at all levels of study were presented.

University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI

• Vincent C. Brigada of Broad Brook was named to the spring 2018 Dean's List. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.
