Town of Windsor Locks Emergency Declaration and Proclamation Tropical Storm Henri

On Friday August 20, 2021, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont declared a State of Emergency with regard to Tropical Storm Henri.

The Town of Windsor Locks has declared a Local State of Emergency effective 12:00 pm (noon) on August 21, 2021. The Declaration and Proclamation is attached hereto.

These emergency declarations triggered the implementation of our Local Emergency Operations Plan.

The EOP calls on our Emergency Management Director to convene the First Selectman’s Unified Command and open a Local Emergency Operations Center. The Emergency Operations Center was opened immediately following the declaration. The Unified Command includes our Emergency Management Director and CERT Coordinator, the Chiefs of the Windsor Locks Fire Department, Police Department and Lions Ambulance Corps, the Superintendent of Schools, and the Directors of Health, Public Works, Social Services and Senior Services. The Unified Command met at 12:05 pm on August 21, 2021 and conducted a detailed review of storm preparations and contingencies.

The Uniform Command will receive regular updates from The State of Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security and Eversource throughout the duration of the event.
