Connecticut Water to Flush Water Mains in East Windsor and Windsor Locks

Water main flushing helps maintain water quality and ensure hydrants are in good working order

The Connecticut Water Company is flushing its water mains in East Windsor and Windsor Locks. Routine flushing helps to maintain water quality by scouring the inside of the water mains and allows the Company to assess the condition of fire hydrants.

Evening Flushing operations between 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday are planned for:
• East Windsor – October 12 - 14
• Windsor Locks – October 19 - 21

During water main flushing it is possible that some customers may experience discolored water and pressure fluctuations. The discolored water should clear within a few hours. While experiencing discolored water, customers should avoid using their washing machine, dishwasher, or other water using devices. Customers should call Connecticut Water at 1-800-286-5700 if discolored water persists for more than a few hours.

Connecticut Water’s water main flushing schedule is available on its Web site. In addition, the Company is using its telephone notification system to notify customers the evening before flushing is scheduled to be done in their neighborhood so that they can plan accordingly.
