CT Airports To Receive $30 Million In Federal Stimulus

Bradley will receive most of the state's funds, part of a $10 billion federal package.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — Bradley International Airport will receive $28.5 million in federal stimulus funds to cope with the nose dive in global travel, according to Hartford Business Journal. Tweed-New Haven Airport will also receive $1.2 million, with smaller airports collecting the remaining funds.

The funds are part of a federal package worth $10 billion. Bradley officials said the money will go toward expenses such as payroll, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and debt, Hartford Business Journal reported.

Bradley reported last month that traffic was down about 70 percent. Airlines around the world have nixed flights as cancellations are up and bookings are down.
