CTVV: DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER PROTECTION

Among the many departments that serve the State of Connecticut, the DCP deserves recognition for its broad range of responsibilities.

Among the many departments that serve the State of Connecticut, the DCP deserves recognition for its broad range of responsibilities that includes but not limited to: liquor and drug control, medical marijuana, professional licensing for architects and engineers, product toy and child safety, regulation of foods weights and measures, gaming and charitable organizations.

This is all under the watchful eye of Commissioner Jonathan Harris whose appointment by Governor Malloy in 2014 is well served by his experience as a lawyer concentrating in real estate and economic development, former Mayor of West Hartford, State Senator for three terms and Executive Director of the Democratic Party. His leadership style is well suited to the multiplicity of demands within his department.
