Development Of Windsor Locks Train Station Project Gets $4.8M Grant
The funding allocated will cover restoration of the historic train station, and acquire adjacent property for mixed-income housing.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — A development project centered around the town's historic train station will receive a huge boost, thanks to a $4,848,500 grant from the Community Investment Fund 2030 (CIF) program.
The funding allocated will cover Phase 1a and 1b of the proposed plan. Phase 1a will complete a restoration of the train station by building more facilities for Hartford line riders and those connecting to Bradley International Airport to utilize. Phase 1b is the acquisition of 255 Main Street, adjacent to the train platform, to provide a path for redevelopment into 75 units of transit-oriented, mixed-income housing.
In total, $101,347,638 was allocated to 21 projects throughout the state.

"I am thrilled that our community will receive this vital funding," State Rep. Jane Garibay said. "Many individuals, visitors and residents alike, rely on our town's train station. This funding will help make their stop in Windsor Locks seamless and pleasant. I am also excited that we are taking another step forward towards a transit oriented community."
