East Windsor Aldi Sets Opening Date

EAST WINDSOR, CT — Aldi has set a date for the grand opening of its new Prospect Hill Road supermarket: Thursday, Oct. 1, at 9 a.m.

The store at 151 Prospect Hill Road will offer giveaways for early shoppers, according to The Connecticut Scoop. The first 200 customers will receive a Golden Ticket worth up to $100 and a bag of Aldi products. Free shopping totes will also be available while supplies last.

A preview shopping day was scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 30, ahead of Thursday’s celebration. The store’s regular hours will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, The Connecticut Scoop reported.

The announcement follows Patch’s Sept. 2 report that the supermarket was expected to open in October. At the time, Aldi had not announced a date.

The 20,664-square-foot store sits near Interstate 91, between the Comfort Inn and RTNC Auto Wash. Plans approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission in April 2025 included 95 parking spaces and a 1,167-square-foot canopy.

A second phase could bring a 2,400-square-foot coffee shop with a drive-thru to the property. That portion would require a separate application and town approval, as Patch previously reported.
