Current Member East Windsor Board of Education, Former, Commissioner EW Housing Authority, Greater Together Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, chair, Enfield Cultural Arts Commission, Juvenile Review Board, North Central Mental Health, Child Crisis Advisory Committee.
Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
I am committed to helping provide pathways for student success. Schools must be places where children can thrive.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.
I will continue to seek open communication and transparency among board members, school staff, students, families, and our community.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have spent my entire professional career developing policy and best practices on a statewide level in family literacy, positive youth development, and family engagement. This experience has prepared me to be a vital contributor as a member of the Board of Education.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Review policy and procedures involved in the preparation, dissemination, and adoption of school budgets. Also, ensure that the budget process is continuously evaluated to ensure education needs are being met.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My background as a parent, classroom teacher, statewide policy leader and manager for youth leadership, early literacy, and family engagement prepares me to serve on the East Windsor Board of Education.
