East Windsor Cops Looking Into Car Being Shot at in a Road Rage Incident

The incident took place Friday, police said.

EAST WINDSOR, CT - East Windsor Police are investigating an apparent road rage incident that occurred on South Main Street on Friday.

South Main is the local name for state Route 5.

The incident took place at about 6:30 p.m., police said. Someone reported he had accelerated his vehicle to pass a vehicle that was traveling erratically in the right lane on the southbound side of the road when two lanes merge into one near Thompson Road, police said.

Once in front of the erratic vehicle, the complainant reported hearing a loud noise, which he described as being similar to the noise a firecracker makes, police said. The complainant later inspected his vehicle because of he thought the noise could have been was a mechanical issue, police said.

A bullet hole was found on the lower portion of the passenger side rear quarter panel, police said.

The complainant reported the erratic vehicle in question as a 2004 to 2008 grey Acura TL with dark tints, police said. The operator had his driver's side window down and was described as an Hispanic male with a baseball hat on and possibly a goatee, police said.
