EAST WINDSOR, CT — In a continued effort to keep East Windsor residents informed about the status of the coronavirus pandemic, First Selectman Jason Bowsza issued a statement Monday night on the town's website and social media.

The message reads:

Today, the local health district notified us that we continued our streak of no new confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in East Windsor. Our good progress continues. The Connecticut Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 143 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Windsor, and an additional 14 probable cases. In Connecticut, there are now 45,235 confirmed cases.
On Wednesday, we will continue to offer drive-through COVID-19 testing at the high school for anyone who would like to be tested. No doctor’s prescription is necessary, all insurance is accepted, and no copays will be charged. If you’d like to participate, Priority Urgent Care is recommending that people call ahead for pre-screening by calling 860-454-0678. While pre-screening isn’t required, it helps to keep things running smoothly.
Our progress has been good, and it has been steady. Because of the good progress we’ve seen in controlling the virus, we will be making some changes to these update calls that I’ve been doing. Moving forward, they will happen once per week instead of twice, and the focus will shift from coronavirus-specific issues to more general updates about things that are happening in the Town of East Windsor. I hope to continue doing them as long as they are informative to people in our community. If you are getting them and would like to opt out, you can call my office and ask to be removed or wait until the end of the message and follow the prompts.
I do want to continue these calls, though, because I believe that they help people in our community to stay informed. As the great philosopher Brad Pitt once said, “democracy doesn’t work unless the public is informed.”
Please continue to do what you can to keep yourselves and your families healthy and safe.
