East Windsor Girls Home, Windsor Locks on Road In Class S Hoop

The Panthers are seeded fourth and the Raiders 30th in Class S, according to the brackets released Wednesday morning.

WINDSOR LOCKS-EAST WINDSOR, CT — The road to Mohegan Sun starts Monday and Tuesday, as East Windsor, Windsor Locks and 128 other high school girls basketball teams begin their quests for state championships in the CIAC tournaments.

An impressive 15-5 regular season record gave East Windsor the No. 4 seed and an opening round home game in the Class S tournament. The Panthers will host No. 29 St. Bernard (8-12) Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Windsor Locks (8-12), the No. 30 seed, will travel to No. 3 Putnam (16-4), also Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Other first-round Class S matchups involving teams from Patch towns in Hartford and Tolland counties are:

  • No. 31 Trinity Catholic (8-12) at No. 2 Canton (16-4)
  • No. 26 Aerospace (9-11) at No. 7 Somers (15-5)
  • No. 23 Windham Tech (10-10) at No. 10 SMSA (14-6)
  • No. 21 Windham (10-10) at No. 12 Cheney Tech (14-6)
  • No. 18 Bloomfield (11-9) at No. 15 Gilbert (12-8)
  • No. 20 Weaver (10-10) at No. 13 Housatonic Regional (13-7)
