EAST WINDSOR, CT — A local resident's recent investment of two bucks in an instant lottery game turned into a handsome payoff of more than $38,000, according to the lottery website.

Due to a recent change in policy, the lottery identified the winner merely as Kailas K of East Windsor, who cashed in a prize of $38,088 on a $2 Stacks of Ca$h Progressive ticket purchased at Kings Wine and Liquors on Route 5.

The winnings were claimed Oct. 16, according to the CT Lottery website.
