East Windsor Man Struck, Killed by Car on I-91

Police said the man had gotten out of his truck to refuel it when he was struck early Saturday morning.

WINDSOR, CT — An East Windsor man refueling his truck on the side of Interstate 91 was struck and killed by a car early Saturday morning, state police reported.

Timothy Sanderson, 36, had parked his Ford F-350 on the right shoulder of the northbound side of the highway around 1 a.m. when he was struck by a Nissan Altima. The car then hit the open driver side door of Sanderson's truck, police said.

Sanderson was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

No charges have been filed in connection with the collision. The investigation is continuing.
