Laurence R “Larry” Clark, 66, played his final hole on Tuesday August 7, 2018 after a 22-month battle with cancer. Larry was the best of the best; a good husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, friend, worker. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for anyone, and he did it happily.
He began his life journey on October 6, 1951, oldest son of Lawrence and Shirley Clark. He grew up in East Windsor, graduating East Windsor High School and then enlisting in the service where he served in the U.S. Coast Guard earning the National Defense Service Medal, but not before beginning his 47-year career at 17 with the Dexter Corp, later to be known as Ahlstrom. After working an 8 or 12-hour day, Larry would then work at his own company Clark Ceilings, beautifying the homes of hundreds of clients over the years, doing sheet rock, painting and ceilings.
Even though Larry was a worker, he enjoyed entertaining, riding his Harley, collecting Roadsters and sports cars, hanging with his Dunkin Donuts coffee buddies and golf! Larry played in the Thursday night league with his son-in-law Adam at Cedar Knob for many years, along with their yearly Maryland golf trip, playing 36 holes a day. He enjoyed the camaraderie of his golf mates on Thursdays and the tournaments he played in throughout the years.

We would like to thank Dr. Harriet Kluger and her entire team at Smilow Cancer Center at Yale New Haven Hospital. They took Larry under their wing from the beginning to the end of his cancer journey. Along the way, they became friends and fierce allies to do all they could for him. We thank Sam for his loving care of Larry. His compassion and love helped ease the pain and suffering for everyone.
