East Windsor Obituary: Richard Schweitzer, 81

Richard E. (Skinny) Schweitzer, 81, of East Windsor, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital.

He was born April 2, 1936 in Rockville to the late Joseph and Loretta Mary (DeLorge) Schweitzer. He was very involved with his family and especially spending time hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR and many gatherings at the German Club in Broad Brook where he was a long time member.

Richard is survived by his soul mate of 35 years, Martha Pearo, his sons; Richard Jr and his wife Jill, Dustin, Todd and his wife Heather and his step son Damien Pearo; his daughters Lisa Sweeney, Sarah Schweitzer and Lauretta Schweitzer; his brothers, Joseph and Thomas; 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son David, his sister Helen and his brother Bobby.

Relatives and friends may join the family Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 4 – 7 pm at Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor. A Funeral Home Service will take place at 7:00 pm. Burial will take place Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Catherine Cemetery, Broad Brook. (Please meet at cemetery)
