East Windsor Package Thief Leads Police On High-Speed Chase
An East Windsor man is under arrest for stealing packages from South Windsor homes and leading police on a high-speed chase, police said.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - An East Windsor man was arrested Tuesday on allegations that he stole packages from South Windsor homes and engaged police in a high-speed chase.
Eric Levesque, 47, was charged with reckless driving, sixth-degree larceny, engaging police in pursuit, and assault on a police officer. He was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on March 14.

"On Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at about 2:30 p.m., a resident on Main Street reported that a man had just taken packages off her porch and left the area. The homeowner provided a license plate and vehicle description.
"A South Windsor Police officer located the suspect vehicle on Route 5 near Strong Road and approached the stopped car. The officer asked the operator for identification and saw the stolen packages on the passenger seat in plain view.

"The operator then put the vehicle in gear and fled, causing the vehicle to brush against the officer but not causing injury. The suspect vehicle fled south on Route 5 at a high rate of speed and out of sight of the officer.
"Another motorist called 911 to report the suspect vehicles’ reckless operation and told dispatchers the car had fled onto I-291 toward Hartford. Officers later made contact with the vehicle owner who identified the suspect driving the car. Officers spoke with the suspect who agreed to turn himself in."
