Election 2021: David Swaim For East Windsor Board Of Education

EAST WINDSOR, CT — Democrat David Swaim, 55, is running for the East Windsor Board of Education.

Occupation: Project Manager (Construction)

Family:Town resident of East Windsor since 2006, parent of two daughters, one is a resent 2021 graduate, a younger daughter within our school system

Experience: BOE and BAA

Family in government: no

The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

Transparency and performance standards of our students. Working with the admiration staff and the families to bring test scores up and above the state average

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

“For me, working together with the other EW town boards, school administrators and families to make the budget process more efficient and transparent, along with continuous improvements and creating more opportunities, and setting high standards for our kids and for future generations”.

Accomplishments:

Over 25 years as a construction project manager includes: working as the owner’s rep, managing stakeholders/executive staff, client/tenants, engineering firms, general contractors, vendors, labor force, review/managing multi-million-dollar project budgets and schedules managing and working with, architects, designers, and working closely with the project team and managing relationships between the clients, and city governments and parent firm.

Other issues:

Making the East Windsor school system strong and successful - where learning and preparing our students for their future working with "Portrait of a Graduate" as a prep for every students future

Current BOE member for 6 years (from 2015 through 2021); former Broad Brook Elementary Governance Counsel Board chairman and member 2013 - 2015.
