The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

The single most pressing issue facing the BOE right now is the success of our students now that they are back in the classroom full time. I intend to continue to ask the hard questions and vote with my conscience and always think in the best interests of our students.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

Current BOE members who are candidates should have the same goals. We’ve attended all the same meetings and have the same understanding of what the pressing issues are. Students, budget, and policy and our Superintendent are our key responsibilities. I would have concerns with any candidate that is running with an agenda focused in one area.

Accomplishments:

As a current member of the BOE I have raised some valid concerns, voted on challenging issues as well as gone through the budget process. Professionally I have an accounting/cost analysis background. I think my career provides me with the knowledge base to ask strong budgetary questions. In addition my child was educated in town, and therefore I am familiar with protocols as well as how the school district is structured.

Other issues:

Supporting our students emotional growth with learning challenges and social challenges or outlets such as sports/arts.

Helping shine light on the wonderful opportunities that our schools offer will help erase misconceptions that some still hold onto from concerns in the past.
