The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
As far as the Board of Education goes, I think the biggest issue is improving student opportunities and performance. As a member of the Curriculum Committee, and with my work on the Portrait of a Graduate, and I think I can continue to work towards setting high standards and setting up supports to help students achieve those goals.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I would like to see the whole board work together in the best interests of our students. I think transparency is important and I would work towards getting meetings recorded and available to the public and would encourage more communication between the district and residents.
Accomplishments:
I have served five years on the Board of Education, I am now running for re-election. I also have been involved in East Windsor PTO, East Windsor High School Booster Club, and served on the Broad Brook Elementary School Governance Council.
Other issues:
I would like to see improved communication between the superintendent and the entire Board of Education, not just the chairperson, as well as improved communication between the other boards in town, and such as the Board of Finance. I would also like to see more open communication with the public from the school district.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
Under Democratic leadership, we would strive to work towards removing partisan acrimony on the board and having more bipartisan cooperation in the best interest of the students in our schools.
