Entertaining Evening to Benefit East Windsor Youth Center
The youth center in Broad Brook is in danger of running out of funds.

EAST WINDSOR, CT — A benefit event to help support the struggling East Windsor Youth Center will take place Saturday, Jan. 28 at Gibson's on Bridge Street.
Four local bands will be performing, while Gibson's and some area restaurants are donating food for the event, which begins at 6 p.m. Some great raffle prizes will be up for grabs.
Tickets, which are available at the door, are $20 per person or $35 per couple. All proceeds benefit the Youth Center in Broad Brook, which is run strictly by volunteers and relies on generous donations to stay afloat.

The center, located at 147 Main Street next to Brookside Pizza, opened Oct. 20, 2015 after 18 months of preparation. Serving middle school and high school students, the center operates despite monthly expenses of over $1,250 for rent, insurance, electricity, gas heat, internet, phone, food and supplies.
Donations and fundraisers are the sole means of supporting the center, as the town of East Windsor provides no financial assistance.

Weather permitting, the center is open Tuesdays to Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m., with dinner donated each Friday by local restaurants. Volunteers are always needed to help staff the facility.
