You may have noticed, the library is not as busy as the summer reading program has ended, we still are the place for your summer reading needs and more! Looking for a bestseller-checkout our New Book Wall. Don't forget we have museum passes for that day trip you were planning! Our passes include free or reduced admission to the CT Trolley Museum, New England Air Museum, Lutz Museum, Forest Park Zoo and more- our website has more information and a complete listing. If you need a book for your trip to the shore, the Friends of the Library's ongooing book sale may be the place to look first.
The Library will be showing the family movie, The Greening of Whitney Brown, on Thursday, August 15 at 1pm. Whitney Brown, a spoiled pre-teen, is forced to move to the country when her parents experience economic times. A fish out of water, far from her comfort zone, she befriends an amazing horse, and undertakes a misguided journey back to her old life, only to discover that her family is her home. The movie is rated PG. Admission is free and there is no registration.
The adult book discussion finishes this month with the film, Bride and Prejudice on Wednesday, August 14 at 7 pm and discussion of the film on Wednesday, August 21 at 7 pm.
The movie 42, The Jackie Robinson Story will be shown Thursday, August 22 at 1pm. Rated PG-13, 42 is a powerful film about how one man changed baseball and America, starring Harrison Ford and Chadwick Boseman as Jackie Robinson. Admisssion is free.
