Fire Damages East Windsor Business
Firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading beyond the attic; no injuries were reported.
EAST WINDSOR, CT — One person was displaced and a business will remain temporarily closed after a fire damaged a commercial building on South Main Street Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The Warehouse Point and Broad Brook fire departments were dispatched to 17 South Main St. at 1:33 p.m. for a reported structure fire. Firefighters from Enfield and Windsor Locks also responded through automatic mutual aid.
East Windsor police officers arrived first and reported an active fire at the rear of the building, initially believed to be electrical in nature, according to Warehouse Point Fire Chief James Barton.

Barton said the fire had spread into the attic by the time he arrived.
Firefighters entered the building, opened up the affected area and found additional fire hidden inside. Crews then advanced a hose line to the second floor and extinguished the remaining flames in the attic.

Officials said the fire was quickly brought under control, preventing further spread and limiting damage to the building.
The Warehouse Point Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
