Former State Trooper Enters Plea in Alleged Rape of 81-Year-Old Woman

Jeffrey LaPorto, 43, of Windsor, was arrested last June for the alleged sexual assault of the woman at a Windsor Locks motel.

Former state trooper Jeffrey LaPorto, 43, of Windsor pleaded no contest to one count of first-degree sexual assault in the alleged rape of an 81-year-old woman at a Windsor Locks motel last June, according to the Hartford Courant.

The Courant reports that LaPorto entered his plea Tuesday as part of an agreement with state prosecutors. He was originally charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of first-degree unlawful restraint.

LaPorto will be back in court on June 29 when he is expected to be sentenced to 10 years in prison, suspended after two years, according to the Courant.

LaPorto spent several hours talking and drinking with the woman at the Quality Inn bar on June 6, 2014 and they went back to her room where the alleged sexual assault occurred, according to the Courant. LaPorto claimed that any sexual contact between the two was consensual.
