Mask Mandate In Windsor Locks Indoor Public Spaces Rescinded
The mandate has been lifted, with the exception of town-owned and/or operated buildings, according to the first selectman.

WINDSOR LOCKS, CT — Progress in the town's efforts to control the spread of coronavirus has led to the lifting of a mandate requiring masks be worn in most public indoor spaces, effective Friday.
"I have taken this action because we have made some modest progress in our efforts to control the spread of COVID," First Selectman Chris Kervick said. "For more than thirty days prior to today, the town of Windsor Locks has maintained a case rate of less than 15 cases per thousand citizens based on a rolling 14 day average. Also, the vaccination rate for Windsor Locks residents has increased since the order was issued, including an increase in the vaccination rate of persons over the age of 65 years to virtually 100 percent."
The mandate remains in effect for all public indoor spaces owned and/or operated by the town of Windsor Locks.

"The town of Windsor Locks strongly encourages its citizens and visitors to our community to continue utilizing masks or face coverings in indoor settings regardless of vaccination status and to continue to observe all precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health," Kervick said.
